VinUni Mobile Information Literacy

Welcome! 

Welcome to the VinUniversity course on Mobile Information Literacy (MIL). The course is bilingual in English and Vietnamese. It is a mobile technology user-friendly literacy interface for use by university students to hone their information literacy skills during coursework and future employment opportunities. The objectives are to develop strategies for enhancing student information literacy skills through mobile technology (m-learning). This project will support the design and development of the MIL Tool and explore the best strategies for delivering and accessing learning content on mobile devices. We anticipate that the university and its community-based partners will benefit from student’s enhanced abilities in accessing web-based information to complete academic assignments, research projects, and field placements.

The MIL Project was first initiated by the University of Waterloo. After it was successfully conducted, VinUniversity learned the model and adjusted it to be mostly appropriate for VinUni students. It is mandatory for all freshmen, anticipating that all freshmen will complete the modules during the orientation week.

How to use the canvas app to access the course ?

  1. Download the Canvas Student App:
    • Available for both iOS and Android devices. You can find it in the App Store or Google Play Store.
  2. Log In:
    • Open the app and enter your institution’s Canvas URL or search for your school. (Use VINUNIVERSITY)
    • Use your school credentials to log in.
  3. Access Your Dashboard:
    • Once logged in, you’ll see your Dashboard, which displays all your courses.
    • Tap on a course card (mobile information literacy) to enter the course.
  4. Navigate Your Course:
    • Use the Course Navigation menu on the left to access different sections like Announcements, Assignments, Discussions, and Grades.
