Borrowing:

My library card:

  • Staff from other Vingroup’s P&Ls or VinUni’s counterparts who wish to access library materials are welcome to a apply for a library card at the circulation desk on the first floor of the library. Please bring a completed application with the following:
  • ID card or passport
    • An introduction letter from the Vingroup’s P&L or VinUni’s counterparts
    • An annual cost of 1,000,000 VND/card/12 months

Borrowing privileges:

  • Staff from other Vingroup’s P&Ls or VinUni’s counterparts may borrow up to 3 items at a time for up to two weeks per item. Books may be renewed once for one week. Renewals of library materials are allowed if there has been no request for that material by any other patrons. Materials that are not overdue can be renewed by phone or in-person at the circulation desk. Overdue materials need to be renewed in-person.

Requests and holds

  • You can request books from the VinUni Library online library catalogue. Requests will take one to two business days. You will be notified by e-mail when your items are ready for pick up. Up-to-date status reports are also available in your library account.
  • You can borrow the books from the VinUni Library circulation counter.
  • Two Self-check machines are also available for checking books out.
  • Items will be held for two days.

Fines and other charges:

  • Overdue materials fines are 20,000 VND per business day after the due date per item.
  • Overdue fines accrue from the due date to the date when the item is reported lost; or when the item is returned (if found afterwards).
  • Lost Book Charge: Fair market value plus 200,000 VND service charge per item.
  • Repair charges for items return damaged: 100,000 VND.
  • For appeals, please an email to the library. Appeals will be handled on a case to case basis.        

Equipment loans

  • The following equipment is available for loan from the Circulation desk. Items are to be used in the Library only. The loan period for most of these items is three hours. They are free to borrow, but individuals will be responsible for covering the cost of lost or stolen items.

    • Memory Stick (USB)
    • Mobile device chargers
  • Fines for late return are 20,000 VND per hour or part of hour. Additional 40,000 VND if equipment is not returned by the end of the day. Cost to replacement parts will be determined by the library staff.

  • New Arrivals:  Find resources to access current and older news sources.

Remote access to resources:

  • Current students, faculty, staff, and certain community users may access online resources from anywhere.
  • To log into resources from off campus you must use your name and password. Log in using the Remote Access button.
  • Important: If you are logging on to library online resources from a public computer PLEASE remember to close your browser when you are finished using the online resources. This will prevent others from misusing library resources.

Use online resources:

  • The use of electronic resources (databases, e-journals, etc.) is limited to the VinUni authorized users (VinUni’s students, faculty, and staff, staff from Vingroup’s P&Ls and other counterparts) and is governed by license agreements negotiated between VinUni and the publishers/providers.
  • Users accessing library databases both on and off campus will be required to log in with their username and password.
  • Users must follow Copyright Law and provisions of license agreements with individual providers. Online database material achieved must be used for personal, non-commercial purposes.
  • Unauthorized use of VinUni Library databases and other electronic resources can result in revocation of access of the whole university, then will be disciplined or referral to competent civil authorities.

Printing, copying, and scanning:

  • The library has two multifunctional printers for students to print, scan, and make copies of documents.

Computers:

  • You may use the library desktop computers, borrow laptops or iPads from the circulation desk or use your own devices and connect to the University’s wi-fi. All University computing equipment is governed by the University’s acceptable use policy.
