About VinUni

VinUniversity aspires to be a world-class university based on the highest international standards in research and teaching, with an intimate and intensive learning environment for students, highly accomplished faculty, and a commitment to global citizenship. The first classes will be enrolled in 2020.

On 2 March 2018, the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam approved a proposal by VinGroup to create a new university in Vietnam, to be known as VinUniversity, or “VinUni”.

VinUni has strategic collaborations with the world’s leading universities, including Cornell University and the University of Pennsylvania. These universities have become close advisors and crucial enablers in establishing the three colleges at VinUni: the College of Business and Management, the College of Engineering and Computer Science, and the College of Health Sciences. Every aspect of the University: its curricula, research, faculty, student body, facilities, and campus life, is being developed to meet the highest standards set by the world’s leading accrediting and ranking organizations, such as ABET, AACSB, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) and Times Higher Education (THE).

2020

July 1, 2020

VinUniversity and Cornell University signed an agreement to provide Cornell students with a Study Away option at VinUni Campus.

June 26, 2020

The University Admission Scheme for Academic Year 2020-2021 has been approved by the Ministry of Education and Training for Undergraduate Programs.

May 12, 2020

VinUniversity and VinAI Research signed an agreement to collaborate in training, scientific research, and the exchange of human resources, as well as sharing facilities.

April 10, 2020

VinUniversity and Yonsei University (Korea) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to cooperate in scientific research, academic events, the exchange of students and lecturers, and the QUIS Conference.

February 28, 2020

The Ministry of Education and Training issued VinUniversity its operating license.

February 2, 2020

VinUniversity signed an agreement with VinBrain to collaborate in the training and exchange of human resources and scientific research, as well as sharing facilities.

January 15, 2020

VinUniversity’s inauguration ceremony was held on its campus located at Vinhomes Ocean Park, Gia Lam, Hanoi.

January 2, 2020

The University Council of VinUniversity was officially formed. The Founding Donor recognized Dr. Le Mai Lan as the University President, and Professor Rohit Verma as the Founding Provost.

2019

December 17, 2019

The Prime Minister of Vietnam officially approved the establishment of VinUniversity, with an expected inaugural class of 300 students.

November 11, 2019

VinUniversity Project announced the admission directives for the academic year 2020 – 2021, with three colleges: Business & Management, Health Sciences, and Engineering & Computer Science.

2018

November 14, 2018

Vingroup began construction of the VinUniversity campus.

April 3, 2018

Vingroup officially signed a collaboration contract with Cornell University and the University of Pennsylvania, two of the top 20 universities in the world.

March 5, 2018

Vingroup announced its plan to enter the field of higher education under the name of VinUniversity.

2017

July 19, 2017

Vingroup approved the 30-year strategic master plan to build VinUniversity to become a world-class university, fostering and developing talents for future.

2016

February 2, 2016

Vingroup engaged Parthenon (E&Y) and Oxford Innovation (Oxford University) as international consultants to develop a feasibility plan to establish a brand new university, which is expected to be a breakthrough in higher education in Vietnam.
